Southern Yacht Solutions are proud UK, Ireland and Channel Islands agents for Black Pepper ® Yachts. Based in Nantes Black Pepper ® Yachts have built their reputation on its “Codes”, high-performance yachts from 8m to 25m in a vintage neo-retro design. It is also behind prestigious racing prototypes, in particular, three Imocas: Bureau Vallée (ex l’Occitane en Provence); Initiatives-Cœur and OceansLab Innovations for the Vendée Globe race.
Tenders are also an integral part of the Black Pepper® range, with speedboats from 5m to 7m in length, complementing the range of yachts.
The Black Pepper Story
Michel Douville de Franssu an agricultural engineer by training, it was under other skies that Michel dreamed of his first boats. Additionally, It was in Africa, the land of his birth, that he created his first company processing natural materials for the perfume and flavour industry. Also, Brown flavors are his specialty, including coffee, cocoa, vanilla but also Black Pepper… then, the name of the shipyard was born. Moreover, passionate about the sea and boats from an early age, it was in 2007 that his nostalgia for the sea caught up with him. An aesthete at heart, he couldn’t find a “boat to suit his taste”, and the urge to create his own travel companion grew. And so, with a touch of madness, he set about building “the” boat he had in mind: Code 0.
